How to Paint a Bathroom Vanity Without Sanding

How to Paint a Bathroom Vanity Without Sanding

Replacing a bathroom vanity can quickly become an expensive project.

If the vanity itself is still in good shape, why replace it?

A fresh coat of paint can completely change the look of your bathroom—and Beyond Paint makes the process  simple.

For this project, we're using Bright White, a clean, crisp white that instantly freshens up an outdated vanity. What You'll Need

• Beyond Paint in Bright White

• General-purpose degreaser, such as Simple Green or Zep Degreaser

• Clean cloths

• 3/8-inch microfiber or woven roller

• Paint tray

• Small brush for corners and detailed areas

• Painter's tape, if desired

Step 1: Remove the Hardware

Remove knobs, pulls and other hardware from the vanity.

If you're painting around a countertop or other fixed surfaces, use painter's tape to protect areas you don't  want painted.

Step 2: Clean the Vanity

Bathrooms collect moisture, dust, hair products and everyday grime, so thoroughly clean the vanity before  painting.

Use a general-purpose degreaser and make sure the surface is completely clean and dry. The surface should be free of grease, oil and wax before application.

Step 3: Skip the Traditional Prep

Once the vanity is clean and dry, you're ready to paint.

There's no need to strip the existing finish, sand the vanity or apply a separate primer.

Beyond Paint is an all-in-one bonder, primer and sealer.

Step 4: Apply the First Coat

Apply Bright White using a 3/8-inch microfiber or woven roller for the best results. Use a small brush where necessary to reach corners or detailed areas.

Beyond Paint can also be applied using an airless or HVLP sprayer.

Step 5: Wait at Least Two Hours

Allow the first coat to dry for at least two hours before applying your second coat.

Step 6: Apply the Second Coat

Apply your second coat for full, even coverage.

The result is a smooth and uniform finish that can give an older vanity an entirely new appearance.

Step 7: Reinstall the Hardware

Once the vanity is ready to handle, put the hardware back on and return your bathroom essentials. That's it.

No replacement vanity. No complicated renovation.

Just a fresh new look.
